Linen Sett

Linen Sett
LINEN SETT
This term is based on the total number of splits (or dents) in a standard width of 40-in. Thus 1,200 splits 2 ends per split on 40-in.= 1,200 sett. 1,200 x 2 = 2,400 ends : 40 = 60 threads per inch. The sett is increased pro rata to the number of threads per dent, thus : - 1,200 splits 3 ends per split on 40 in. = 1,800 sett. 1,800 x 2 = 3,600 ends : 40 = 90 threads per inch.
